Happy birthday, Mom!

My mom has always been one of my closest confidants. Here she and I are with Tommy Wright, a retired music teacher from FSU. She and my dad always accepted where I was in life, and encouraged me to aim ever higher. I don't think I'd be where I am today if it weren't for them.

I want everyone to know that today is my mom's BIRTHDAY! Hope you're having a wonderful day, mom!

Won NaNoWriMo again!

Not only did I win National Novel Writing Month for the fourth time, I also went over the 50,000-word winning mark by a mile, coming in at 78,828 words! My story isn't finished, though--I definitely want to work on it more over this winter. Congratulations to all NaNoWriMo participants and winners this year!

Rearranged Photo Gallery

I made some changes to the way I present photos on this site.

Instead of using Typepad's built-in photo galleries, which I felt were too static, I've instead linked each of the gallery icons to its corresponding Flickr set.

This gives me a lot more room to expand what I share here.

I've used Flickr before, as a general photo archiving site, but this new account will spotlight only the best: my travel and artistic photography, pictures of my paintings, and new photoessays.

Can I get fit?

I just received my copy of the P90X workout. Man, oh man, is this going to give me a run for my money! 

Arguably the most unfortunate part of finishing college is no longer having access to FSU's Leach Center. And since I want to save a little money, a new gym membership isn't in the budget. So I looked for a program that could be done at home, with the equipment I already have. I heard good things about P90X from friends, so I ordered it.

It will obviously be tough. Which is what I need, really--if it isn't going to hurt a bit, it won't be doing much good. I'll report back here at the halfway mark, at the end of August, and give my review!
